Adam Sandler Discusses Former World Heavyweight Champion the Great Khali’s Diet

An old YouTube video shared by @Artistonart-v6k showcases a short clip from a 2005 interview with Adam Sandler and The Great Khali with Conan O’Brein as a host. In the video, American actor and comedian Sandler, while reminiscing about working with The Great Khali in The Longest Yard, humorously recalled the WWE giant’s enormous appetite and surprising diet.

O’Brien asks The Great Khali what his height is, to which the latter replies, “7 feet 2 inches.” His massive height in itself is a lot to take in. But then, he also reveals that he weighs an astonishing 400 pounds. However, none of these shocks viewers as much as Khali’s diet: 24 eggs for breakfast and 4 whole chickens for lunch.

“We’re shooting the movie, the man starts breakfast off with two dozen eggs,” Sandler recalls humorously. “Every morning, two dozen eggs. Four chickens for lunch, right?”

Khali, who seems to be in on the joke, replies wittily, “That’s normal, four chickens.”

Everyone breaks out laughing, and even Sandler agrees, saying, “That’s not normal, right? No one else eats four chickens!”

However, considering Khali’s massive stature, it seems quite normal for him to consume this many calories and this amount of protein in one meal. He has always been vocal about his love for eggs and advocates a balanced diet along with consistent training.

“This is my diet. When eating eggs, have the egg white and not the yellow part (yolk), as it is responsible for cholesterol.”

The Indian giant follows an extremely regimented workout routine that keeps him strong and fight-ready.

What The Great Khali’s Typical Workout Routine Looks Like

The former heavyweight champion follows a very strict bodybuilding-style workout routine. However, he also engages in bodyweight exercises, yoga, cardio, and wrestling practice.

As per The Indian Express, the wrestler begins his mornings with a 2-hour workout routine. However, where most people stop, The Great Khali begins. He also often trains for another 2 to 3 hours with his students at the Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE).

His typical weekly workout routine looks like-

  • Sunday - Chest day
  • Monday – Biceps and triceps
  • Tuesday – Cardio and core
  • Wednesday – Shoulders and traps
  • Thursday – Back and abs
  • Friday – Legs and abs
  • Saturday – Recovery (mobility work, jogging, walking, or treadmill)

One of the best things about the gentle giant is his humility. Even after becoming a global icon, Khali remains soft, gentle-natured, and fun to be around.

"I used to feel a huge pressure to perform my best when I started... I used to sweat initially, but I slowly got used to it," he said.

Other than strength training, Khali also performs bodyweight exercises, yoga, and mobility drills to keep himself flexible.
