At 25, Alexis Holmes has already made history, winning multiple World Championship medals, including a gold in the 4x400m relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
During a brief break before her next campaign, the Olympian shared new training visuals. Here’s a look.
How Alexis Holmes Keeps Herself Fit?
Although the athlete hasn’t revealed her exact day-to-day workout routine, her Instagram offers a glimpse into the wide range of exercises she regularly incorporates. In one post, she revealed that she was back at the gym and started her workout with:
- Snatches
- Pogo Jumps
- Bench Press
- Abs Rollout
That’s not all, another Instagram post by her showcases her doing a series of stretches. Its caption says, "2026 will be the year that I finally enter my true soft girl era. Let this be your reminder that softness can still be strength."
For her recovery day, she starts off with 10 minutes on the bicycle, followed by foam rolling and additional stretches before jumping into a cold tub to relax her muscles.
Being an Olympian, her workout schedule changes over time. Most of the time, she stays on the track rather than inside the gym.
How Does Alexis Holmes Balance Her Physical and Mental Health?
When you are a top-class athlete like Alexis Holmes, balancing professional life with mental health becomes extremely important, as setbacks can impact performance more than physical injuries.
"Public health applies to anything, and mental health is big for me. I’m someone who has openly struggled with anxiety and depression, and I think specifically being an athlete and being in sports is not talked about enough," said Holmes while talking to Girls United.
She further added, "Since a young age, we’re taught that you have to be mentally strong, and I think people confuse that with not being vulnerable or human, so it’s important that we create space for athletes to have these emotions and anxieties and still be able to compete at the highest levels."
It can be safely said that maintaining this balance between mental and physical health has paid its dividends for Holmes. It remains to be seen what the future holds for her.
Do you think she will continue her glorious run on the tracks this year?
