“Americans Spent $60B”- Arnold Schwarzenegger Addresses US’ Biggest Dietary Concerns

Arnold Schwarzenegger never holds back when giving health advice. This time, the bodybuilding legend is warning Americans about their $60 billion of waste linked to fiber deficiency.
In a recent YouTube post, the 7-time Mr. Olympia winner pointed out that “Last year, Americans spent $60 billion in vitamins and supplements, and yet 95% of us still don't get enough of one of the most important nutrients in the entire human diet, fiber”.
He's not wrong. According to federal data from last year, over 90% of women and 97% of men don’t meet the recommendations. Although the recommended amount is 25 grams of fiber a day for women and 31 grams for men, on an average day, they consume about 15 grams and 18 grams, respectively.
That's because fiber is a key part of digestion. It maintains your gut health, feeding the healthy bacteria that exist there. That's why Austrian Oak added, “It handles everything. How you absorb nutrients, how you digest food, your microbiome function, and how steady your energy is. If your gut isn't performing, your foundation is incomplete”.
To address the issue, Arnold and his team partnered with @livemomentous and built Fiber+. According to him, this product will help terminate bloating and improve digestion. It will help rebuild one's gut bacteria.
Even some experts’ reviews tell the same story.
According to Caryn Watt, BSc, NASM-PT, University of Windsor, general people and bodybuilders must take fiber for the following reasons:
- Fiber keeps people full longer
- It maintains the blood sugar level
- It reduces inflammation.
Apart from this, Arnold also revealed that Americans spend a huge amount of money on supplements, but still lack essential nutrients.
Arnold Schwarzenegger on the supplement industry
One week ago, Arnold Schwarzenegger expressed concern that Americans’ money spent on supplements is getting wasted.
On a LinkedIn post, he talked about the billions spent on vitamins. But there was one thing that specifically bothered him. "The same nutritional deficiencies we had twenty years ago? Still here. Sometimes worse. How is that possible?”
According to him, after spending so much money, people are still deficient in Vitamin D, Omega-3s, and magnesium.
He said this is because “Most people are taking the wrong things, in the wrong forms, for the wrong reasons. They’re buying hope in a bottle instead of solving actual problems”.
To solve this problem, Arnold's Pump Club launched a guide portal to help people choose the appropriate supplement.
