Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in the studios. And this time he's partnered up with the Hunger Games actor, Liam Hemsworth, for a brand new action film, The Kellys.

Amazon MGM has secured worldwide rights to the upcoming high-octane flick, which will stream on demand on Prime Video.

The blockbuster director Brad Peyton, known for his Netflix hit Atlas, will produce the film alongside Thunder Road Films. The script of the action thriller is written in collaboration with Tze Chun, known for Gotham and Once Upon a Time.

The film, which already sounds like the next TV hit, follows an engrossing story of a disgraced NYC cop, Jack Kelly, who has to team up with his family, with whom he is at odds, to rescue his abducted wife, Molly.

This isn't the first time the former Californian governor has worked with the MGM studios, having previously starred as Santa in their Christmas special, The Man with the Bag.

Filming alongside Hemsworth, however, is a faraway memory, although not entirely new. The duo last teamed up on 2012’s The Expendables 2, as members of a mercenary crew.

Now, sharing the Hollywood reel once again, film critics believe Schwarzenegger will play a role opposite Hemsworth's Jack Kelly, even though the details of his character still remain under wraps.

But while a decisive return to the action industry, The Kellys isn't Schwarzenegger's only upcoming project.

Over four decades later, the action superhero will return as the fierce warrior and sword-and-sorcery hero, Conan, once again.

The third instalment of the franchise, which has long been delayed due to various copyright complications, is set to return to the theatres as King Conan, early next year.

Schwarzenegger has confirmed that the production will begin later this year, headed by the Mission Impossible director, Christopher McQuarrie.

Inspired in parts by Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven, the bodybuilding legend teased the plot, which follows the story of King Conan, who has ruled the throne for over 40 years, but has become complacent over the years.

"Look at [Unforgiven]. It will be a lot like that, but it will be with extraordinary battles," shared Schwarzenegger.
