Arnold Schwarzenegger explains what made him switch to comedy from action movies
Arnold Schwarzenegger has lived a life full of twists and turns. From bodybuilding to movies and then politics, he did it all with perfection. However, for many, his transition from action movies to comedy movies was shocking, as Schwarzenegger’s persona was already established as a rough-and-tough guy.
On June 13, The Howard Stern Show shared a podcast on its YouTube channel featuring Austrian Oak, in which the host asked him why, after delivering a hit action movie titled Predator, Schwarzenegger chose to act in a comedy titled 'Twins.'
“The only thing is that it was after we've spent the evening together," said Schwarzenegger. "Where Ivan Reitman and Robin Williams said to me says You are so funny.' And I said, 'Uh, yeah, I know. I do have a funny side to me and a comedic side. And they said, 'You should we should see this on the screen."

In this part, Schwarzenegger discussed the scenarios in which Ivan Reitman, the producer and director of the movie Twin, approached the bodybuilder and suggested he do a comedy.
"Hollywood refuses to do a comedy with me because they make all the money in the world with the action movie," said Schwarzenegger via the Howard Stern Show. "So they're not about to switch now. Ivan said, "Well, I would do something with you (in the comedy genre)."
From Terminator to Predator, the Austrian Oak proved to everyone that his bodybuilding skills helped him win not only the Mr. Olympia titles but also the hearts of many fans.
However, Ivan and the young bodybuilder eventually collaborated, and 'Twins' started Schwarzenegger's comedic debut.
He went on to make other comedy movies, including Kindergarten Teacher, Junior, and Jingle All the Way.
Now, while making another question, the makers were hampered by the question of who would be the perfect fit against Schwarzenegger.
Danny DeVito's selection for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s comedy movie, Twins
When Stern asked Schwarzenegger whether Danny DeVito was their first choice for the movie, the bodybuilding legend gave a straight answer.
“There was no choice yet. It was only that we had a discussion one time. Uh, the studio and Ivan, and then I said, you know, the way it's written is that he's totally opposite. Why don't we get someone that is physically also totally opposite, and they said like who, and I said Danny Dvito, and they said that's brilliant."
And the maker also loved the idea and quickly informed Devito, who loved it and joined the team.
