Joseph Baena has quickly become one of the most talked-about figures in Classic bodybuilding with his natty physique and a nostalgia-inducing look. However, now on a strategic competitive break, Arnold Schwarzenegger's son has taken to the race tracks.

Baena recently caught his first NASCAR event at Naval Base Coronado, where the company made history by hosting its trailblazing race in an active US military capacity. The June 19-21 occasion was surely a lifetime opportunity.

Capturing the San Diego weekend, thrumming with car engines, the bodybuilder posted the snapshots of his visit on Instagram on June 22. Sorry to disappoint kids, Joe Baena can confirm, "Lightning McQueen isn’t real."

Jokes aside, Baena experienced the raw, gritty event from the front-row seats and behind the wheel; yet the Truck Series caught his eye most. American racer Layner Riggs from Front Row Motorsports took the win in the Navy 250 in a chaotic overtime finish, edging right past Tyler Reif.

The high-octane pit stops were another intriguing part of the event, as Baena wrote. Moreover, besides clips from the racing event itself, the athlete posted pictures with Navy personnel and a video of himself on the race course as part of the NASCAR Racing Experience.

Such celebrity features have become a trend in NASCAR, one that Baena's father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has also brushed up against.

The 'Austrian Oak' once coursed the Sonoma Raceway in 2015 as the honorary pace car driver for the Toyota/Save Mart 350.

Serving as the Grand Marshal, the former California governor drove a hydrogen fuel cell-powered Toyota Mirai, a vehicle that released water from its exhaust.

In a pre-race statement, Schwarzenegger, known for his environmental advocacy, shared, "It will be an honor to lead these fantastic athletes and champions around the raceway, and on top of it, I get to drive a car that is both powerful and green."

On another occasion, the bodybuilding maestro waved the green flag in the Auto Club 500 in Fontana, California, in 2005.

Although Schwarzenegger has attended only two NASCAR events, he will remain a key name in racing history. And now his son, Joseph Baena, has picked up the torch.
