Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Son Joe Baena Wins a Pro Card & Another Bodybuilding Championship After His Debut Win
Joseph Baena is quickly following in his father's footsteps. Just two weeks after his competitive debut, Arnold Schwarzenegger's son has won another title. The victory at the INBA Iron Gladiator also earned him a coveted pro card.
After impressing everyone with his debut, Arnold Schwarzenegger's youngest secured a second win just days later at the INBA Iron Gladiator, earning him accolades and his pro card. Securing a pro card so early in his career[just two weeks after debut] has cemented Baena's promising career.
Ahead of the competition, Baena stated in an interview, “I’m really excited to be a part of the INBA and to experience this wonderful program. My fitness journey, it’s been a long time.”
Baena announced his Iron Gladiator win on Instagram on April 4 by posing on stage with a sword and shield, with the caption "Your new INBA Iron Gladiator Classic Physique Champion!"
Among the different bodybuilding divisions, the 28-year-old chose the Classic Physique division to compete in. Classic Physique is judged on a certain criteria that measures symmetry, conditioning, structure, and presentation.
In an interview with the INBA, Baena discussed his journey and what led him to make his bodybuilding debut finally.
"I started swimming and lost a lot of the fat. It wasn't until my junior year of college, so about 10 years ago, or eight years ago, that I started lifting weights and fell in love with bodybuilding. I fell in love with the sport and even watching, but this year with the overthinking and being afraid, it [was] time to commit and do a show."
Joseph Baena’s Powerful Bodybuilding Debut
Joseph Baena made his bodybuilding debut on March 28 at the NPC Natural Colorado State Show, where he won multiple titles, including three gold medals in the Men's Open Bodybuilding Heavy Weight Class division, Classic Physique True Novice division, and Classic Physique Novice division. He also won a silver medal in the Classic Physique Open Class C division.
Baena prepared for the competitions with hardcore training and a dedicated diet program, glimpses of which were often shared on his Instagram page.
For his debut, instead of following his famous dad's footsteps of entering the mainstream bodybuilding world, Baena chose to become a natural bodybuilder. Despite pushes from speculative fans, he has maintained a single answer for them.
“Plan is to stay natural as of now. We’ll see what the future holds.”
