Arnold Schwarzenegger's 28-year-old son has opened up about his 100-pound weight loss. He revealed that a simple lifestyle change, inspired by a moment that highlighted his physical limitations, was the catalyst for his transformation.
Christopher Schwarzenegger came into the spotlight during the family's 2025 Christmas celebration when Katherine Schwarzenegger shared a video of her family's festivities on December 27. In that video, Christopher was spotted looking very fit, wearing dark grey pants, black leather sneakers, and a fitted leather sweater.
However, this transformation started a couple of years ago, and with steady lifestyle changes, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son successfully shredded 100 lbs.
During his appearance at the 2025 Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit in May 2025, Christopher revealed, “I started in 2019, when I was living in Australia. I was on this big trip. I made it a big like, Oh, I'm going to go out and do all this stuff, be in Australia, and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities”.

He added, “I was like, 'I want to go skydiving.' And my friends were like, 'Yeah, no shot.' I was like, 'Yeah, I can't skydive.”
That moment inspired him, and he started making changes to his lifestyle.
At first, the University of Michigan graduate gave up bread during Lent, a 40-day-long religious observance. And he admitted, “I lost 30 lbs. just through that."
The 28-year-old, who walked a long journey to lose weight, filled with trial and error, currently regularly continues doing movements like:
- Hiking.
- Strength training.
- Walking.
Even after losing that much weight, the Austrian Oak's son said, “Still to this day, when you’re saying, 'Oh, before and after photos', I don’t feel like I’m an 'after' yet. I don’t feel like I’m at the point”.
As he reshaped his life, his journey drew a response from Arnold.

While Arnold had introduced Christopher to the gym at an early age, he developed self-motivation and self-discipline later.
But the legendary bodybuilder has expressed his pride in Christopher’s transformation.
During an interview with The Times, Arnold said, “I could never go and say to him, you’re overweight. We just kept introducing healthy foods. We introduced him always to the gym and all of that kind of stuff.”
He added, “And then, out of nowhere, he decided that he wanted to be lean. And now he is. So that is, of course, fantastic, the self-discipline and the self-motivation. I always felt one day it would have to come from him, and it did.”
