Canelo Alvarez Hits the Gym Hard Ahead of Christian Mbilli Clash Fight

Canelo Alvarez is all set for his upcoming fight, and the proof lies in the intense gym session where he crushed every workout without breaking a sweat.

Canelo Alvarez will be returning to his Disneyland, aka the boxing ring, on September 12, this year, to fight boxing champion Cristian Mbilli. And to check how his preparations were going, Ring magazine decided to drop in during one of his gym sessions, and the Mexican beast did not disappoint.

In the video, Canelo Alvarez was seen performing various movements, including seated cable chest press and row machine exercises.

Just a few weeks ago, another video of his drills was shared, where he was seen training his neck. He was seen performing weighted neck ups with a weight strapped to his head and a mouth guard, completing each rep with power and ease.

“I never talk about myself. I don’t care who is there; I want to achieve my goals, no matter what. I never feel fear. I always enjoy it. Sometimes my trainer saw that opponent and said, 'He is too strong, he is 10 years old,' I don’t really care. I don’t really care. Two rounds and you are out,” Alvarez said in the clip.

Alvarez is all set to face Mbilli at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the main event of the "Mexico vs. The World" fight card. He was last seen in the ring a year ago, in September 2025, in a fight against Terrance Crawford that he lost by unanimous decision.

Now he is getting back on the horse and looks fully prepared to reclaim his glory, but Cristian Mbilli is also not taking it slow.

Cristian Mbilli’s Message for Canelo Alvarez

During a recent 'cordial' press conference in Egypt, Canelo Alvarez and Cristian Mbilli had a heated exchange of words, and if the energy is so intense now, who knows how it will be in the ring?

Mbilli mocked Alvarez's age and was excited to 'wage a war' against a 'very old' Alvarez.

“I have a good style to beat Canelo. I am an amazing fighter. I have good power and speed. I have all of the abilities to beat Canelo and win this fight,” said Mbilli.

“I don't care about his age. It's about our abilities to box. I think it's the perfect time for me…I'm not changing my style. I will put pressure, and we are going to see if he can deal with this."

He promised to make Alvarez regret being in the ring and give the audience an incredible night.
