Cristiano Ronaldo Says He’s Physically Ready for FIFA 2026 World Cup- “I’m Fine”

Cristiano Ronaldo sends an optimistic message about his health ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Before departing from the Florida base camp, Ronaldo dismissed concerns about his physical health and readiness for the World Cup.

On June 13, ESPN FC's Instagram account shared the news, featuring Ronaldo's statement in which the star said,

“Physically? I'm fine- have you not seen my matches?”

And no one can deny that. At 41, Ronaldo is one of the biggest names in football, playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia while also controlling the momentum of Portugal.

However, the question of his readiness arose due to some of his performances.

The star faced criticism from his fans and the media after Portugal's 2-1 win over Nigeria in the June 11 friendly match.

During the match, although he took 4 shots, Ronaldo struggled to show his best form, missed 3 big opportunities, and failed to add to his men's international record of 143 goals.

According to Saudi Gazette, “Ronaldo was handed more playing time than any other outfield starter before being substituted in the 65th minute as Portugal coach Roberto Martínez managed his squad ahead of the tournament”.

Portugal has never won a World Cup title, and its best result came in 1966, when the team finished 3rd.

So, when asked about the chance of the team winning the World Cup, Ronaldo said, “We'll only know at the end. We're really looking forward to it; we know the World Cup is always a special tournament, just like the European Championship, so we're heading there full of hope”.

Portugal will open its campaign on June 23 against Uzbekistan, and only time will tell how Ronaldo manages the games given his fitness and experience.

While Ronaldo dismissed all the speculation about his fitness, it is time to see what the star’s fitness routine is for the World Cup.
