Even after his retirement, Hafthor Bjornsson remains among the strongest men in the world. One of the strongest proofs of his persona is the massive deadlift he has shown the world, which looks like a dream to many.

On May 14, the Strongman shared a glimpse of that stamina on his Instagram by posting a photo of himself deadlifting a massive 1,069.2 lbs.

He captioned the short video, “heaviest deadlift season I have ever done.”

This video was part of his training for the 2026 Enhanced Games, where Bjornsson will compete for another world record.

The event that will take place in Las Vegas on May 24 allows competitors to use s********* and show how much their bodies can achieve.

Bjornsson’s main goal for this event is to deadlift 1135.4 lbs. If he successfully does this, he would exceed his own standing record of 1124.4 lbs, which he set at the World Deadlift Championship in 2025.

Winning this event will allow him to receive $250,000 as prize money.

In the 2026 Enhanced Games, Bojornsson will face the reigning World's Strongest Man, Mitchell Hooper, and it will be interesting to see how they compete against each other.

The Icelandic Strongman has won many, including:

  • Arnold Strongman Classic, 2018
  • Europe's strongest man, 2018

With less than 10 days to go until the competition, Bjornsson is not only focusing on his strength training but also on his diet.
