How Serious Is Kevin Hart’s Workout and Fitness Routine? Complete Breakdown for Peak Hollywood Performance
“Kevin’s schedule is crazy, but physical fitness is his anchor. No matter what happens, no matter what’s going on, the gym is our sanctuary,” said Kevin Hart’s personal trainer Ross Everline about his workout routine.
While Hart may be a comedian at heart, the Hollywood star loves pushing himself in the gym. "When I started working out 41/2 years ago, I realized that the more exercise you do, the more rewards you get," Hart told the Los Angeles Times in 2016. So, what does the Jumanji star's workout look like?
Kevin Hart’s Workout Philosophy
According to Ross, Hart’s home is a haven for high-tech workout equipment, such as Peloton and Hydrow, where he serves as Creative Director and promotes rowing as a premier full-body workout.
Kevin Hart believes in strength training over any other workout style. His weekly routine is built around lifting heavy. His entire workout looks something like this:
Circuit 1
- Bench Press = 3 sets: 10, 8, 6 reps (no rest between exercises in circuit)
- Pushups = 3 sets: As many as possible (stop two reps short of failure)
- Sled Rows or Dumbbell Rows = 3 sets: Pull sled ~20 yards or 10–12 reps per side (90 sec rest after completing circuit)
Circuit 2
- Incline Dumbbell Bench Press = 3 sets of 10 reps
- Dumbbell Curls = 3 sets of 10 reps
- Bench Dips = 3 sets: As many as possible (90 sec rest after completing circuit)
“You got seven days in the week so that seven days breaks down into attacking the body differently. Everything from arms to back to chest to core to full body—we do cardio throughout as well,” Hart said in his conversation with GQ in 2023.
However, working out is only part of the fitness routine. The rest is all about the diet.
What Kevin Hart Eats
During the same conversation with GQ, the comedian revealed that he follows a strict diet and eats only between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. (or alternatively, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.).
“I wish I could give you a fascinating food story attached with a trajectory of better foods throughout—but I’m really simple. I eat between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.—sometimes that’ll float from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m,” said Kevin Hart in his conversation with GQ.
- Breakfast: Oatmeal with fruits (berries or strawberries, optional brown sugar) or egg whites and avocado toast
- Lunch: Chicken Caesar salad or kale Caesar salad with chicken or plant-based meat, optional walnuts/fruit
- Dinner: Brown rice with chicken breast or protein substitute, broccoli, brussels sprouts, or other vegetables
So what are your takeaways from Kevin Hart’s workout regimen? Did you learn anything worth incorporating in your routine? Tell us in the comments.
