How Wiz Khalifa Maintains His Fitness Routine While Touring the World
Wiz Khalifa is always on the go, touring the world and filling up amphitheaters. Fans have their brows raised about how the rapper still manages to look so fit on the stage.
The American rapper and singer-songwriter is currently on the North American run of his Lost Americana tour, co-headlining alongside MGK (Machine Gun Kelly). Despite a packed May and June, Khalifa is not ditching his gym sessions.
Taking to Instagram, on May 30, the rapper posted a video clip montage of him doing chest workouts, including bench press and shoulder presses, in a makeshift outdoor gym.
Standing as a clear testimony to his commitment to staying active and physically fit, the caption fleshed out the three pillars that he maintains despite life's odds. "I balance workout, diet, and sleep even when on the go," Khalifa wrote.
As someone who performs on the stage amongst deafening crowds, oftentimes for 90 minutes or longer, cardio and lung capacity play a huge role in maintaining the quality of his performance.
With more than 36 scheduled dates across the North American wing of the tour, lasting fitness becomes an active commitment instead of a passing thought.
However, while the gym sessions stay behind the curtain, the effort shines through on the stage.
How Wiz Khalifa balances training and touring
The rapping maestro has long stayed committed to fitness, with his workout routine consisting of 5 consistent 1-hour gym sessions every week, despite a packed schedule. He also spices up those sessions with 30 to 60-minute-long martial arts training.
Khalifa, who began combat sports in 2017, continues to put in the hard work in muay thai and boxing, whether it's just hitting the mitts on a particularly loaded day.
In fact, he posted a video clip of himself doing muay thai padwork on Instagram on May 20, even while delivering showstopping experiences on the North American leg of his tour.
This fervent vigor has attracted even figures like Kai Trump, the US President's granddaughter, to his concerts. Kai attended the Decca Live show on May 28 in Jacksonville, Florida
Khalifa posted stills from the night on Instagram, including snapshots from the concert and a picture of Kai and fellow golfer Paris Hilinski, posing alongside the artist.
Be it such celebrity visits or sold-out venues, Wiz Khalifa retains the top spot of the hip-hop music scene. And the gym sessions and relentless effort fuel his powerful performance on the stage. Have you booked your tickets for the concert yet?
