Inside Ilia Topuria’s Boxing Drills From His Training Camp for UFC Freedom 250
The UFC lightweight champion, Ilia Topuria, is in his action mode. In June 2025, he defeated Charles Oliveira, and he is now in the White House for UFC Freedom 250, where he will fight Justin Gaethje on June 14, 2026.

Before that event, Topuria had shown a glimpse of his boxing workout routine to his fans and, of course, to the opponent team.
On May 24, 2026, Javi Climent, Topuria's boxing trainer, shared a short Instagram clip of himself training the champion. He captioned the post as, “Boxing time🌹🥇 @iliatopuria.”
On May 23, Topuria posted a montage of boxing sessions showing how he prepared himself for the day. In the caption, he revealed that he is not only undergoing physical training but is also mentally strong and ready.
The caption said, “All this hard work and dedication will be rewarded on June 14th. The victory is mine.”
Speaking to Men’s Health, Topuria said, “I’ve built an aggressive boxing style around my jiu-jitsu.” He didn't only train focusing on one type of movement. He loves surprises.
Topuria said, “Usually, I don’t like to know what the training session is going to look like. I like to be surprised”.
Apart from that, according to Men’s Health, the 29-year-old star went through a fight training before the match.
The training movements include:
For a warm-up:
- Neck Rolls/Mat Exercises
- Jump Rope
- Agility Ladder.
After warming up, his workouts included:
- Band-Resisted Shadowboxing
- Striking Drills
- Pad Work
- Technical Sparring
- Bag Work.
After seeing Topuria train for the match, fans could not contain themselves and began praising the star.
