Inside Michal Krizo’s arm day routine to train for the 2026 New York Pro

With the 2026 New York Pro coming up, the Slovakian giant Michal Krizo gave us a little peek into his "legendary" arm session. With his Olympia qualification locked in from last year's British Grand Prix Pro win, Krizo is sharpening the details.

And, his arm workout just adds another layer of input about how seriously he is prepping for the same. The workout hit every angle of the arms with intentional variety: Cable Tricep Pushdown, Machine Preacher Curl, Smith Machine Close-Grip Bench Press, Cable Curl, Dip Machine, and Dumbbell Cross-Body Curl.

A report from Generation Iron revealed his training approach. He stated, "I am training five times a week, but I plan to change it, either this week, starting Monday, or in 10 weeks, I'd like to train six times per week. Depending on my conditioning and, if necessary, I'd change workouts to train each muscle group twice a week except for legs."

The combination of machine-based isolation and compound pressing gives both the triceps and biceps maximum stimulation and keeps joint stress manageable deep in prep.

Krizo rose to the top level of Men's Open bodybuilding rapidly. He burst into the bodybuilding scene in Slovakia, he started with the IFBB Elite Pro League and NPC in 2022, and soon earned his Pro Card at the Amateur Olympia Italy

Bursting onto the scene out of Slovakia, he made the jump from the IFBB Elite Pro League and NPC in 2022, immediately earned his Pro Card at the Amateur Olympia Italy, and then won his very first IFBB Pro show — the EVLS Prague Pro — earning his ticket to that year's Olympia on debut.

He ranked 12th in his Olympia debut. Next Olympia, he ranked 7th in 2023, which is his career's best he has achieved.

Michal Krizo Is Using the 2026 New York Pro as His Launching Pad for Olympia Glory

No bodybuilder's journey is a cake walk. Similarly, Krizo also faced a massive setback due to a shoulder injury ahead of the 2024 Olympia, and he had to stop his prep as he underwent surgery.

He originally planned to compete at the EVLS Prague Pro, but he had to pull out when he realised the severity of his injury.

Krizo's physique was built on dense and heavy muscles and for a Men's Open competitor, a shoulder injury serves as a massive setback in terms of progression. It shakes the foundation of it all.

Krizo had to make a comeback, and it was not long enough till he challenged himself again in 2025. He returned to compete and came back with a statement finish.

He ranked third at the New York Pro and fifth at the Pittsburgh Pro before sealing his Olympia qualification with a victory at the British Grand Prix Pro. He made sure his comeback was a success with three top-five finishes and a ticket to Olympia.

Krizo now gears up for the 2026 New York Pro to stay heavy on that momentum. Krizo is not looking at this opportunity as a qualifier; he is putting everything into measuring himself and launching himself for internet conversation heading into the 2026 Mr. Olympia.

So, how successful do you think will Krizo be in his 2026 Mr. Olympia venture? Will he win it?
