The GOAT debate is once again on the surface, with the recent statement from 4-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler.

In an interview with Generation Iron, when Cutler was asked about his choice for the greatest bodybuilder of all time, He did not choose Ronnie Coleman or Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“Flex Wheeler,” said Cutler in an instant. “That twisting back shot. That is the most perfect, I think, physique ever to walk."

In this interview with Generation Iron, Cutler was talking about the 1993 Mr. Olympia competition. Wheeler did show up at the Mr. Olympia stage that year in one of his best physical conditions. Wheeler debuted in the Mr. Olympia stage and earned the 2 nd position behind legendary Dorian Yates.

Standing at 5'10" with a competition weight of 212 to 225 lbs, Wheeler is widely known as having one of the most aesthetically perfect bodies in bodybuilding and shocked the bodybuilding world with his flawless mix of tiny waist (27.5 to 29 inches), conditioning, deep symmetry, and muscle mass.

Before debuting at the Mr. Olympia, he had already established himself as an unstoppable force earlier that year by earning first place at the Arnold Classic that year, defeating guys like Lee Labrada and Vince Taylor.

Wheeler’s physical conditioning was so good that not only Cutler but also retired IFBB pro Victor Martinez had something special to say about Wheeler.

For his hard work and physical condition, Wheeler is known as the Sultan of Symmetry. According to Martinez, he could be elite, even by today's standards.

Speaking on the Generation Iron podcast on YouTube, Martinez gave his take on Wheeler.

“That’s the sultan of symmetry. The symmetry that Flex Wheeler would bring in right now, compared to what the guys have now looking like blobs… he’d win.”

Martinez suggested that many of today’s athletes prioritize sheer size, while Wheeler possessed a level of balance and flow that is rarely seen.
