Jennifer Lopez's Workout Reality: How a Fitness Coach Broke Down Her Fitness Routine

At 56, Jennifer Lopez continues to leave fans wondering how she stays so lean, explosive, and stage-ready. And one fitness coach, Jaymie Moran, revealed what truly sets J.Lo apart from the rest.

Earlier this month, Moran shared a video on his Instagram in which Lopez was lifting heavy and training with increased intensity, offering his honest thoughts on Jennifer Lopez’s workout.

“Now, frankly, this is what you're training for if you wanna be really healthy and strong in your 50s, 60s... I'm talking good form, lifting heavy weight, and consistently showing up, because did you know you can lose about 1% of your muscle per year since your 30s if you haven't been lifting weights? But as J-Lo shows, the right workout routine can combat this,” Moran highlighted.

Now, according to the Harvard Medical School, a 30-year-old loses a quarter of their muscle by the time they're 70. That's why resistance training is important. Dr. Robert Schreiber, an instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School, said, "Just doing aerobic exercise is not adequate. Unless you are doing strength training, you will become weaker and less functional."

So what advice did Moran have for anyone looking to follow in Lopez's footsteps?

“Whatever your age, introducing resistance training with progressive overload will have you feeling stronger and looking leaner. Just 30 minutes, three times a week, is a great start.”

Moran’s advice is straightforward: lift heavy and stay consistent. But that alone doesn’t build a physique like JLo’s, so what’s more to it? Well, the answer is a clean diet.

Back in 2016, J.Lo’s coach, Tracy Anderson, sat down with People to answer questions about Lopez’s diet. During the conversation, she revealed that to push her further, she makes sure Lopez eats as clean as possible:

“I have her eating very clean because she needs really good fuel for all the things that she’s doing. It’s all organic, and it’s all very well thought out, with the balance of very high-quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food.”
