Joseph Baena Ends Cut With Simple High-Protein Pancake Recipe

Joseph Baena is celebrating his recent bodybuilding victories in style. After winning two competitions, Arnold Schwarzenegger's son officially ended his strict cutting diet. He marked the occasion by sharing a simple, high-protein pancake recipe with his fans.
“As we approach our goal… and the ground beef plate are really the only things I’ve been eating the last couple of weeks,” Joseph Baena wrote on a March 25 post before his debut in the professional bodybuilding competition.
Now, after winning his first competition, the NPC Natural Colorado State Championships, and his second professional competition, the INBA Iron Gladiator Classic Physique title, he has moved on from his fat-cut diet phase and started his usual high-protein diet.
On April 7, the youngest son of the Austrian Oak shared a new pancake recipe with his thousands of Instagram fans. He captioned the video as:
“Protein Pancakes! 🥞🏅. A true breakfast of champions. I usually like to use premade mixes, but thought I’d try doing it from scratch.
The protein pancakes were extremely easy to make and very simple ingredients. For the scoop of protein, you can choose any flavor, but I went with vanilla today. The cut has officially ended today, commence the bulk 💪.”
The 28-year-old bodybuilder also included the recipe in the caption, showing his fans how to prepare the dish. The ingredients include:
For Pancake mix:
- 1.5 cup flour
- 1 scoop protein
- 2.5 teaspoons baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1.5 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Other items are:
- Greek yogurt
- Blueberries.
- Blackberries
- Raspberries
- Beef bacon
Interestingly, Baena was seen preparing food while holding the gold medal and sword he won at the last competition. He even tried to cut the pancakes with that sword. The gesture was a moment of pride for Schwarzenegger Jr.
His win at the NPC Natural Colorado State competition included three gold medals:
- The Men’s Open Body Heavy Weight Class
- Men’s Classic Physique True Novice
- Men’s Class Physique Novice
And by winning the INBA, Baena has become a Pro bodybuilder.
While he shared this pancake recipe after winning his second competition, he shared another special recipe before appearing at the competition.
Joe Baena’s Chicken Bowl Recipe Before the INBA Iron Gladiator Classic Physique Event
On April 1, the youngest son of Schwarzenegger shared another easy meal recipe while saying, “Only a couple of days to my second bodybuilding show, we are making a ground chicken bowl.”

He captioned the video as, “Ground Chicken Bowl 🥣🐔. Another simple high-protein meal that I whipped up in less than 20 minutes. Tastes so good and is quite nutrient-dense! Yes, I know I put it on a plate, but it didn’t look as pretty in a bowl 😄.”
The ingredients of the bowl are:
- Ground Chicken, or you can use turkey
- Tomato paste
- Sweet potato
- Broccoli
- Cottage cheese
- Red pepper flakes and honey for flavor
- Arugula
- Grape tomatoes
For seasoning, he used:
- Salt
- Pepper
- Cumin
- Paprika
- Chili Powder
- Garlic Powder
- Onion powder
For dressing or, as Baena said, zero-calorie dressing, he used:
- Apple cider vinegar
- Water
- Dijon mustard
- Garlic powder
His focus on simple, high-protein recipes clearly paid off on stage.
