Larry Wheels Pressing 200 lbs Dumbbells Leaves the Internet & Bodybuilding World Amazed
Larry Wheels just pulled a Ronnie Coleman, and the internet couldn’t keep calm.
Fitness influencer and powerlifter Larry Wheels left the internet in awe when he shared a video of himself bench-pressing 200 lbs. In the video, he was seen performing four reps of the heavy weight all by himself.
His form was perfect: he leaned back carefully and performed each rep with caution, without any gimmicks or unnecessary screaming or shouting.
As his spotter tried to help after noticing him struggle a little on the last rep, Wheels stopped him with a simple, “I got it,” and went on to complete the reps seamlessly before dropping the dumbbells.
For those impressed by this feat, this is just a small part of his long list of achievements. As a renowned powerlifter, Wheels has set multiple records during his career, including one in 2020.
At the Arnold Sports Festival 2020, he posted an 870-lb (395 kg) squat, followed by a 645-lb (293 kg) bench press, and then set a world record with an 855-lb (388 kg) deadlift, bringing his overall total to 2,370 lbs. He beat the then-record holder, Eric Lilliebridge, by a mere 0.1 pounds, as Lilliebridge’s record stood at 2,369.9 lbs.
On April 3, 2022, he impressed the bodybuilding world again by setting an all-time raw bench press world record when he loaded 661.4 pounds (300 kilograms) on a barbell for a paused-rep PR.
Open Powerlifting noted that his paused rep was 16.5 lbs (7.5 kg) heavier than his previous all-time raw bench press world record of 644.9 pounds (292.5 kilograms) in the 140-kilogram weight class.
He impressed fans then, and he still manages to impress them now, even though he hasn’t competed professionally since 2020. His latest 200-lb bench press earned him a lot of praise from fans.
