Mark Henry Once Refused to Admit That John Cena was Stronger Than Him

A YouTube video posted by @epictalks0 went viral online after American two-time Olympian Mark Henry challenged his strength against John Cena’s. “The World’s Strongest Man,” Henry, explained how he possessed the capability to bend steel with his bare hands. He hilariously dismissed all claims of Cena being stronger than him, drawing on his power as an elite weightlifter.

The video surfaced in reference to Big Show, aka Paul Wight, commenting that Cena was stronger than Henry. Everyone quickly understood the undertone of humor in the video, many agreeing with Henry’s take on his strength. Henry, who is proud of his sheer strength and power, maintains that he is “The World’s Strongest Man,” jokingly mocking anyone who disagrees.

“That dude ain’t nowhere near as strong as me. I bend steel with my hands,” he stressed. “Me and Big Show, I ruined, I broke a steering wheel. I bent a steering wheel one time in the car.”

Henry goes on to narrate a funny anecdote where he once bent the steering wheel of a rented car after a rude comment from his son.

Despite Cena’s impressive strength and popularity among fans, Henry’s funny comments caught the attention of netizens. However, Henry’s confidence isn’t merely big talk. He has spent years building his massive strength with the help of brutal training sessions.

The Workout That Earned Mark Henry the Title of “The World’s Strongest Man”

Earning an impressive title like “The World’s Strongest Man” is no easy feat. Henry has dedicated years of his life to discipline, consistency, and brutal training sessions that have helped him gain impressive strength.

According to Fitness Reaper, Henry did not follow any specific workout routine, but kept it flexible as per his schedule. He reveals how he doesn’t lift weights above 286 pounds, be it in deadlifting, squats, or benching. His focus is to build reps and not weight.

“Oh yeah, I never go above 130 kilos [286 pounds] in anything [now]. I squat, deadlift, bench, anything with a lighter weight. I’ll try to do as many reps as I can in the shortest timeframe.”

While many athletes put in several hours of intense training, Henry follows a different approach. He reveals that his workouts last just about 45 minutes.

He typically does stretching exercises and follows it up with cardio, either on an elliptical machine, a recumbent, or a regular upright bike. Apart from this, he believes that combined workouts offer maximum results. He doesn’t stick to just cardio or strength training, but prefers a combination of various workouts.
