The physical nature of MMA makes recovery an indispensable part of a fighter's life, and Adrian Lee follows his own set of processes for his recovery from various physical setbacks.

Speaking to BodyBuilding Bros, the ONE Championship welterweight answered a range of questions, one of which focused on his recovery methods.

Addressing the topic, Lee said, "One main fitness trend I have adopted recently, a year ago, is Ice baths and Contrast therapy."

“It really has been a game-changer inside my camp. There are a lot of weeks where the contrast and ice therapy just help keep me going because it allows my body to recover and push just as hard the next day,” Lee concluded.

A 2023 systematic review by NCBI found that cold plunges after exercise are highly beneficial for recovery, as they reduce delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS), perceived exertion, and creatine kinase levels, which are key markers of muscle damage.

Coming off a one-fight losing streak against Tye Ruotolo, Lee understands his mistakes and is looking to learn from them and apply those lessons against his next opponent.

Adrian Lee Expresses His Honest Thoughts After Losing to Tye Ruotolo

Lee sat for an interview with ONE Championship, where he detailed his thoughts on the fight with Tye Ruotolo, which handed him his lone career defeat.

The nineteen-year-old said, "That fight with Tye, it was a rough one. When I was in that ring with Tye, it was kind of new. Tye was definitely the highest caliber opponent I’ve fought so far, and I think it was definitely a little bit of a shocker."

Lee squared off against Tye back in September in a high-intensity fight; however, despite his best efforts, Ruotolo defeated him in Round 2 via a rear-naked choke.

“The biggest lesson I learned from that fight was my composure. It was the first time I’ve ever been put in a position like that in any of my fights,” said ‘The New Phenom.’

His upcoming fight against Shozo Isojima is scheduled to take place at ONE Fight Night 40: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger II on February 13, and before that, Lee appears determined not to make the same mistake again.

Do you think 'The Phenom' will be able to return to the winning column?
