Oprah Winfrey’s Workout Routine Behind Her Recent Weight Loss

The host and actress Oprah Gail Winfrey has recently turned heads after being spotted at Paris Fashion Week following her weight-loss transformation.
Although Winfrey has experienced ups and downs, one of the biggest turning points came in 2021. After going through two knee replacement surgeries, her recovery was very difficult.
According to Entertainment Tonight, in a “The Life You Want Class,” she said, “When I came home the first time, I literally could not lift my leg. I couldn’t lift my heel off of the bed, and I vowed if I was ever able to get up, walk around, and move again -- that I would take advantage of movement, exercise, and of being able to be fully in my body.”
So, after her recovery, she started hiking every day and built strength and endurance. Her transformation is not an overnight change, but it is a long story of consistent hard work and determination.

- Planks
- Kettlebell movements
- Strength training
According to HELLO! Oprah Winfrey has lost almost 40-50 pounds so far, and her goal weight is 160lbs.
She regularly updates her fans on social media and shares her routine workouts with them.
At 72, Oprah has made a series of front-row appearances at events like Chloé, Zimmermann, Chanel, and Stella McCartney. On March 11, 2026, she shared a carousel of pictures and videos with a caption “Fashion. Friendship. Food. And the simple joy of feeling comfortable in my own skin….. get in some pajamas!”
The host of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” looked stunning in the photo. She was wearing a high-waisted pair of blue jeans, an off-white top, and a cropped, brown velvet jacket. Oprah completed her look with a pair of brown sunglasses and closed-toed pointed heels. She wore her hair in a high ponytail and carried a white purse.

Recently, Oprah celebrated her 72nd birthday, but this celebration was quite different. She posted a video on Instagram showing her doing a 72-minute cardio workout on her birthday.

She captioned the video “I never thought I’d spend my birthday doing a workout, let alone a 72-minute one!..... Thank you all for the birthday wishes—now let me go find a book to read!” In her 72-minute cardio-focused workout, she was seen doing exercises like:
- Treadmil
- Stationary biking
- Vertical climbing
- Ski machine (for full body workout)
Winfrey has shared several videos in which she exercises with a kettlebell, planks, and other exercises. She credits consistency and determination for her weight loss and overall transformation.
