Penn Badgley Says New Role Consumed Him and Pushed His Body Hard

Penn Badgley recently appeared on his Podcrushed podcast with co-star Meghann Fahy to discuss his role in his upcoming movie and the pressure to lose weight.
Penn Badgley and Meghann Fahy are playing Dr. Nicholas Rose and Naomi Westfield, respectively, in the new romcom “You Deserve Each Other.” He said that he was “consumed” with losing weight.
According to him, his character in the movie is obsessed with his looks. To match it in real life, the actor pushed his body hard in a short period of time.
He said, “The way he is written on the page is truly, like, I should have had a shredded eight-pack. I should have had a Marvel body.”

The Birthday Cake actor said he already had a good physique, but he felt it wasn't enough. It turned out to be funny for him because all that is for a romantic movie.
Badgley as Nicholas is a perfect, polite dentist who is engaged to Naomi, played by Fahy. The funny part is that they both don’t like each other. So, they try to ruin their own wedding by competing against each other, in the hope that the other one will call off the marriage first.
The shooting of the movie is done and dusted, but there is no news regarding the official release. It is expected to be released in 2026, and it will be very interesting to see the battle and chemistry between the two.
But this is not the first time Penn Badgley has worked on his physique for a role.
Penn Badgley's workout
Penn Badgley follows a disciplined fitness regimen daily, focusing on building strength and efficiency. He usually worked in shows and movies, which require specific physique attributes, which is why he likes to stick to strength training.
For example, when he was getting ready for the movie 'The Stepfather, he rapidly transformed himself by losing 2-3 pounds of fat in just one week. For this Badgley ingeluge in a gruelling workout 4 time in a week and performed movements like,

For lunch, he mostly prefers plant-based protein, vegetables, and brown rice. For dinner, he mostly eats a lot of veggies with some plant-based protein.
