Sara Saffari Explains Why She Quit Eating Her Favorite McDonald’s Food

Most give up eating fast food from franchises like McDonald's after becoming health-conscious. But for the American social media influencer, Sara Saffari, her health wasn't much of a reason to give up her favorite McDonald's meal.

On May 29, Saffari took to her Instagram and shared a video from her visit to a McDonald's outlet. The 25-year-old shared that she used to be a regular McDonald's customer and always ordered the same combination: a McChicken and a large Coke. Saffari also revealed that she used to drive around the town alone, having them, while listening to melancholic numbers from artists like Russ.

She confessed that this routine changed after she started working out, but the reason wasn't her health consciousness. Saffari disclosed, "When I started working out, I hadn't had McDonald's since, coz it gives me a bit of PTSD about that dark dark time."

Well, Saffari's reason to give up her chosen McDonald's meal may sound a bit uncanny, but she has admitted that her life has only become better after she made the change.

Saffari joined a gym and started working out to help herself out of the dark phase in 2021. And by 2022, she had noticed enough change to share her transformation on Instagram.

On March 29, 2022, Saffari shared an Instagram post exactly a year after starting to work out. Besides the transformation snaps, her caption also spoke volumes about how her life had changed for the better.

Saffari penned, "As cliché as it sounds, the gym has drastically changed my life for the better. I don’t recognize the person I was a year ago in the second pic. Working out has improved my patience, perfected my discipline, and boosted my confidence."

She ended with, "The journey has been surreal thus far… but it is only the beginning. 😈 thank you all for the support, ily."

The 25-year-old has never shied away from talking about her miserable phase on public platforms, and while she is genuinely happy about her decision, the transition to a fitness freak didn't come at once.

While Saffari gave only an outline of her McDonald's meal and her untoward mental state in the aforementioned Instagram video, she went into more detail about her transition while speaking to YouTuber Chris Williamson.

During one of Williamson's podcast episodes, Saffari repeated the McDonald's story. But she added that the McDonald's meal was the only food she had in the entire day during that phase. Subsequently, she disclosed the factors that made her think that she had seen enough and propelled her to make a change.

Saffari said, "I think my mental health was so... it was crappy. It went on for like six months. It was just like a switch. I was literally tired of spending every hour in bed. And then, I was like, 'I have nothing better to do, might as well hit the gym."

She also detailed how she had a piece of salmon after her first day at the gym, and thought to herself, "Anything is better than a McDonald's burger at this point." She then said, "It was kind of a mix of TikTok and talking to people that helped me get to where I am."

Apparently, where Saffari is today is nowhere comparable to where she was during her McDonald's phase, and acting on time made all the difference.

After knowing Saffari's case, are you also planning to do something about the issue that has been bothering you lately?
