Singer celebrates nearly 10-stone weight loss with bodybuilding bebut

It's quite common to come across people who celebrate their weight-loss journey by sharing it with the masses. But the 56-year-old singer from Frome, Somerset, Jane Bennett, took a different approach and surprisingly decided to take up bodybuilding after her weight-loss transformation.

A recent report from the BBC revealed that Bennett competed in the World Natural Bodybuilding Federation UK First Timers (WNBF) event on June 7. Bennett, who had struggled with her weight for most of her adulthood, decided to participate in the event after her remarkable almost 10 stone (~140 lbs) weight loss.

"I started just wanting to feel better,” said Bennett, talking about her weight loss. “I never imagined where it would lead."

Bennett also provided those like her with a touch of motivation. The Somerset native believes that just one spark can build the fire to fuel the transformation.

"You don't have to have it all figured out, you just have to start, said Benett via BBC on June 7.

Bennett's association with her trainer, Kieran Pierce, helped her weight-loss journey significantly. After starting to visit the gym regularly, she described her experience saying,

“It was my space where I could sort of reset my head and my thoughts whilst challenging my body to grow stronger."

Let's take a look at how his first experience in bodybuilding was.

Bennett's experience of competing in bodybuilding

There were no last-minute changes in Bennett's plan to compete in the WNBF event as she took to the stage and posed before audiences despite being 56.

Winning was never her goal, and her subsequent Instagram post displayed that she was proud to have celebrated her weight-loss journey by posing on the stage.

"Four years ago, I was hanging around, literally. The descent that day was planned, but in many ways, life felt like it was heading in the wrong direction,” said Bennett via a lengthy Instagram post caption. "Fast forward four years. The woman in the second photo has stood on a bodybuilding stage, found confidence she never knew she had, discovered a love of training, and built a life with purpose, goals, and direction."

Besides the hundreds of other renowned stories, Bennett's case also displays that it's never really too late to start something you want to do.

So, after learning about her journey, are you also thinking of finally doing the task that you have been delaying?
