62-Year-Old Ronnie Coleman Is Battling Blood Infection, as Confirmed by His Family
“Hey guys, I hate to break it to y’all. But I won’t be able to make it out to the UK this week as I planned. Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency and had to stick around here in the U.S. for treatment”. That's what Ronnie Coleman said on June 30 through an Instagram post to give an update on his health.
Since then, his fans had started to worry about Coleman's health and well-being. They also wanted to know his current position.
Then, on July 1, through an Instagram post, Coleman's family confirmed that The King is battling a blood infection.
So, according to the Instagram post, “Ronnie has been transferred to a specialized medical facility to receive the highest level of care available. He is currently being treated for an infection in his bloodstream and remains under close, intensive medical supervision.
While his condition remains complex, there have been encouraging signs of progress. His medical team is working around the clock to support his recovery. At this stage, key evaluations and treatments are ongoing. And Ronnie continues to fight with the strength and resilience that define him.”

Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman’s life was documented in the 2018 documentary, Ronnie Coleman: The King. In that documentary, Coleman’s mental health and many surgeries were revealed.
To be precise, he has undergone 13 surgeries in his lifetime.
The bodybuilding legend who once deadlifted 800 lbs has recently been seen walking with support. However, he has now recovered, and in the July 1 post, Coleman's family thanked his fans for their prayers and support.
They said, “We are grateful for the overwhelming support and kindness shown by fans, friends, and the entire community. Please continue to keep Ronnie in your thoughts and prayers.”
While recovering from the process, Coleman decided to continue fighting sepsis.
Ronnie Coleman’s continuous fight against sepsis
On July 15, Coleman shared the Instagram post where he said, “This was a tough one y’all and this sepsis infection almost took your boy out. It was by the grace of god that I’m still here with you all, and that’s why I feel a responsibility and obligation to use this platform and my voice to raise awareness.
Most people don’t even know what sepsis is. I didn’t either… until it almost took me away from my family”.
After that message, he said that he decided to keep fighting against the disease, and that's why Coleman and his family have created the “#RonnieStrong movement.”
He said, “From now on, I’m dedicating my journey and my voice to being an advocate. If sharing my story can help save even one life, then it’s all worth it.
Stay strong, stay informed, and thank you for always lifting me up. 🙏🏽💪🏾”
This campaign launched limited-edition merchandise and an official website, with 50 percent of proceeds benefiting Sepsis Alliance, an NGO working to save lives through advocacy and sepsis education.
