Staying Healthy During Long Trips: NBA legend Guides

Staying healthy despite multiple long trips can be challenging for athletes, but the retired NBA star, Chris Paul, knows what to do to maintain his health.
On February 18, 2026, Men’s Health posted a video from its Gym & Fridge series featuring Paul, who accepted that staying healthy while going for long trips can be "hard." According to him, one must be extremely cautious regarding his diet to be healthy despite experiencing such trips.
Paul also said that he is very grateful to his team because, whenever he travels to anyplace, it is his team who takes responsibility of his health. He provided an example stating that they “call ahead to the hotels, find out what they're have on their room service menu”.

He also admitted, “You don't want to be that snob that when you go to the restaurant, you like, I can't eat that.” That's where he likes to alter his eating.
Chris further said in the video, “Anywhere I go, I'm going to be able to find something to eat,” because he does not restrict himself to a particular eating pattern; he can eat everything. His eating philosophy is, if something is good for him, he's going to try it, but never go over-the-limit.
Now, let's see what Chris Paul eats in general.
Chris Paul’s diet
Chris Paul follows a well-balanced and nutritious diet that fuels his training and daily activities. He likes to kickstart his day with water. And if not water, then he prefers “celery juice every morning”. This assists the digestion.
His diet includes:
- A lot of protein
- Hydration plays a vital role in his diet
- A meal “in at least every 3 to 4 hours”.
- French fries, which he considers his guilty pleasure.
Apart from this, Paul also likes desserts such as “churros” and anything that is made with cinnamon. For his late-night snacking, Paul said he would usually “grab some fruit” like blueberries or grapes.
