Torrie Wilson once revealed battling an eating disorder- “Curvy athletic body is just beautiful”
The former American model and professional wrestler Torrie Wilson still captures fan attention with her toned physique even after retiring from the sport. But she once struggled with an eating disorder and has also spoken about it without hesitation.
In 2021, Wilson joined Muscle and Health for an exclusive Zoom interview, during which she revealed that for several years she had battled an eating disorder. When a modeling agency discovered the WWE Hall of Famer, she was told to “lose five or ten pounds and become anorexic.”
Wilson further said, “The anorexia started to morph into bulimia, but I found it hard to throw myself up.” Due to bulimia, she began to gain weight, which ultimately forced her to adopt a fitness and muscle-building regimen in her life.

The former WWE star further revealed her ideology after adopting a fitness lifestyle, saying, “I realized I might not want to look like a super-thin model. The curvy, athletic body is just beautiful.”
When she moved to LA to pursue acting and modeling, her luck held, and this time someone from World Championship Wrestling spotted her.
She added, “They asked me if I would be interested in doing a storyline. I was like, I don’t want to wrestle, but I’d love to be on TV. It snowballed fast, and I soon traveled the world, learning how to wrestle and throw women around.”
This is how she got into wrestling, and the rest is history. However, transitioning from modeling to wrestling was not easy for Wilson, but she always believes in challenging herself.
Torrie Wilson’s mindset of challenging herself
Torrie Wilson posted a video on her Instagram on March 27, 2025, with the caption reading, “I love a good challenge. I let myself get here & you can bet I’ll get myself out!” In the video, she was seen using the Vertical Climber for 3 rounds. Here's how she did:
- Round 1 for 60 seconds (she is pretty fast)
- Round 2 for 60 seconds (she gets a bit slow here)
- Round 3 for 60 seconds (looked exhausted and slower than the previous round)
She took on this challenge to test her cardio fitness, and while performing it, the WWE HoF got tired and felt pain, so at the end of the video, she wrote, “give me 2 weeks to change this.”
Regular exercise and taking care of her health are integral to her life, even at 50. To stay fit, she follows a very disciplined lifestyle, and her typical day includes:
- Walking with her dogs (early in the morning)
- Home gym workout
- She prefers walking whenever she gets time
- Creatine for muscle building
- Protein-dense meal.
This balance of exercise and healthy eating helps her stay active, fit, and toned in her 50s.
