Tracy Cortez Prepares for UFC 329 With Training Camp in Mexico

American UFC flyweight contender Tracy Cortez gears up her preparations in Mexico as she gets ready to compete at UFC 329. The event, held in Las Vegas on July 11, 2026, will put her face-to-face against Wang Cong in a women’s flyweight bout.

An Instagram post shared by @ufcespanol highlighted the intense preparations and grueling training camp endured by Cortez for the big fight. From side planks, hip dips, weight training, intense striking and grappling sessions, along with cardio and strength work, Cortez is leaving no stone unturned.

The Instagram post is captioned, “📸 Tracy Cortez preparing for #UFC329 at the UFC Performance Institute Mexico. Discipline, focus, and hard work in every training session. 🥊🔥The Octagon awaits her. 👀” translated from its original text in Spanish.

Cortez is no stranger to intense training. Her last fight against Erin Blanchfield at UFC 322 on November 15, 2025, resulted in a second-round loss for Cortez. However, she is now ramping up her training to ensure that she wins this mega fight against Wang Cong.

Inside Tracy Cortez’s training philosophy and mindset ahead of UFC 329

Cortez is in no mood to hold back for her upcoming fight with Cong. She revealed that she not only plans on winning the fight, but also to dominate it.

During an interview with Danny Segura on MMA Junkie, Cortez shared how her head coach, Edurado, has been helping her with her striking training. However, she is the most excited about finally having a chance to get back with her old trainer, Santino DeFranco.

Cortez also revealed how training in Mexico City had been an entirely different experience due to the altitude change. Although it felt harder at first, she admitted it had been “like a cheat code." Eventually, the challenge helped her train harder and better.

When asked if she felt nervous, she replied with confidence, saying, “There’s not really any pressure.”

"I know who I am. I know what I'm capable of in that octagon. I know my talent and the tools that I have within me, my overall fight IQ," she said.

"There's not really any pressure. If anything, it's just going in there and trusting the game plan. I put in work this camp, so I don't feel any pressure,” she said during the interview.

She also revealed how she is “training extremely hard” for UFC 329, clearly wanting to make a statement. Her intensity has clearly increased tenfold, as she takes on a more aggressive approach during this training camp.

Who do you think will win the showdown between Cortez and Cong?
