Wesley Vissers may have lost his Arnold Classic title in 2025, but his mindset is already focused on a comeback.

On his Instagram account, Vissers talked about the pros who inspired him to bounce back from his 5th place finish.

“Now, there are two people in the history of bodybuilding who won a major title, lost it and won it back. We're talking about Derek Lunsford and Jay Cutler. Specifically, Jay Cutler to me means a lot”.

Derek Lunsford won the Mr. Olympia title in 2023. However, he lost it in 2024 to Samson Dauda and then won it back in 2025.

Similarly, Jay Cutler, a 4-time Mr. Olympia, earned the title consecutively in 2006 and 2007. In 2008, he was dethroned by Dexter Jackson. However, he regained his title in 2009 and held the crown until 2010.

“I've spoke to him on numerous occasions now. First time at the FIBO, where he really gave me some advice to grow into the offseason, really do my best”.

Wesley Vissers also mentioned Phil Heath and said, “Phil Heath, who also mentioned let them think what they want to think, you focus on you, you know you will eventually get back on top. Advice from such legends is just incredible”.

Inspired by their advice, Vissers has started his 2026 Arnold Classic training.

In the videos, he has revealed his golden cut strategy and admitted that he has lost half the weight required for the competition. His training includes intense workouts focused on his new strategy.

In the last posted video, which was 60 days out from the Arnold Classic, he highlighted that to get an honest assessment of his conditioning and physique, he will visit Stefan Kinsel. Wesley Vissers also wants to go to the city where the competition will take place one and a half weeks early, for safety reasons, specifically following his physical issues last year.
