When Brock Lesnar Mocked Conor McGregor’s Featherweight Size for Calling Out WWE Athletes

Back in 2016, the MMA fighter Conor McGregor went to Twitter and called out WWE wrestlers, writing, "I'd slap the head off your entire roster.” In response, the 7-time WWE champion, Brock Lesnar, stepped in and took care of the Irish fighter.

On Jan 23, 2023, the YouTube channel “Inside Clips” shared a video. The video was captioned “Brock Lesnar Calls Out Conor McGregor!” In the video, Lesnar was seen mocking McGregor's weight category.

Speaking about McGregor, he said, “He's from Ireland, and he weighs like 145 pounds; that's what my left leg weighs. If Conor McGregor has the b**** to stand in front of me. And say what he wants to say, then I myself will address the issue.”

In the video, he further said, “But if Conor wants to say something outside the box, I don't give a s*** what he says, okay.” In fact, Lesnar then escalated the insult, saying, "'Sorry, Conor McGregor.' I got paid for that last fight more than you got paid for all your fights in 2016.”

Speaking to a WWE podcaster, Sam Roberts, the 5-time Slammy Award winner, told Bleacher Report, “I take s**** bigger than that kid.” He added, “I’m 200. And f****** 90 pounds, all right; this guy's 145 pounds. And that’s if he’s lucky and gets up and f****** eats his Wheaties.”

This rivalry heated up during UFC 202, when McGregor was on a conference call and asked whether he would try for a gig with WWE. He then replied that he hadn’t thought about it.

According to TMZ.com, McGregor said, “For the most part, those WWE guys are p******." He then turned his criticism to Lesnar, saying, 'I mean, fair play to Brock.' He got in and fought [at UFC 200] ... but at the end of the day, he's juiced up to the eyeballs ... so how can I respect that?”

However, this exchange of words never led to a formal match. In his recent fight with Max Holloway at UFC 329, McGregor was defeated in 69 seconds.

Conor McGregor lost against Max Holloway at UFC 329

A devastating blow struck McGregor when he returned to the Octagon after 5 years to face Holloway at UFC 329 on July 12. According to Sherdog, as the Irish fighter threw his first kick, he suffered a knee injury that led to him losing the bout in the first round.

But now he wants his defeat overturned to a no contest, as he will soon have the results of the scan of his injury. He went to Instagram on July 16 and wrote, “A few notes: 1. I will have the results of the scan on my leg tomorrow. 2. The fight should be a no contest and all bets returned.”

Some fans are even questioning whether McGregor entered the match with a pre-existing injury. But UFC CEO Dana White and his coach, John Kavanagh, both agree there was no injury. Now, only time will tell whether this match will be ruled a no contest.
