It's quite common for people above 60 to fall prey to diseases, and it wasn't any different for the 75-year-old chef, Babette Davis. However, she recently shared which above-60 mistakes can lead one to become disease-ridden.

Currently known for her awesome fitness at 75, a February 28 Instagram reel from Sprouht displayed Davis's remarks about how she has overcome several adversities in life. The vegan chef battled poor diet, chronic health issues, and hence knows how most people over 60 fall prey to such diseases.

She said, "I think when people get to 60, they sit down, they don't get up, and then all of a sudden it's like, 'Well, I'm 60. I can't get up anymore.' That's really not good for us. I'm constantly on the floor to make sure I get my a** up."

For Davis, this mindset is more dangerous than aging itself. She emphasizes that many people get stuck in past habits, whether it’s unhealthy eating or negative experiences, rather than adapting in the present.

“If it didn’t feel good then, it ain’t gonna feel good now,” she added.

Her own journey proves the opposite. After years of feeling sluggish and unwell from heavy, processed foods, she transitioned to a plant-based diet, began exercising regularly, and rebuilt her relationship with food from the ground up.

What Transformed Babette Davis Into Her Healthiest Self?

Babette Davis was not always like this. She made some rough decisions when she turned 40. She chose to take on a simpler approach to her food, which will make her feel healthy.

Another major turning point came in the form of her husband, Rondal Davis, whom she married in 1992. His disciplined lifestyle and passion for fitness introduced her to a completely different way of living.

Watching him move with strength and ease, despite being older, challenged everything she believed about aging. That influence pushed her to embrace plant-based eating and consistent movement, laying the foundation for the lifestyle she now champions.
