Alica Schmidt provides her training insights and affect during heat

The German runner Alica Schmidt recently shared glimpses of her training in the excruciating European heat with her fans on social media.

On July 15, Schmidt shared a video on her Instagram, captioning it, “Anzeige | Training in this heat is no joke for my body, and my hair also needs a lot of hydration! Loving the @ogxbeautygermany pro growth haircare. My hair is so thick and shiny afterward .”

She revealed that her day starts quite early “because we had 40 degrees that day. So I wanted to get my training in as soon as possible.” She had a quick breakfast and put some oil in her hair because it was her hair-washing day. 

In the Instagram video, she then went off to her training, which she usually starts with a warm-up session, which includes:

  • Banded lateral walk
  • Resistance band glute kickback
  • Standing banded hip abduction
  • Deep overhead banded squats.

In the video, she was seen packing her drinks due to the extreme heat, which included:

  • Electrolytes
  • A lot of ice cubes

After the warm-up session, she did her tracking session. Speaking about the heat in the video, she said, “On that day, I was really dying in training because of the heat; it was so hard and so hot.” After wrapping up her training, she went home and took a cold shower. 

Along with training, diet has also been an important aspect of Schmidt's life. She eats only to get nutrients and to fuel her training sessions.

On her Schmidt YouTube channel, she shared her healthy, well-balanced diet. The video was posted on May 5 with the caption “What I eat in a day - Training camp edition 💪🏼.” In the video, she was seen eating:
