Alison Brie’s Workout Routine That Helps Her Hip Thrust 136 kg at 43
Alison Brie has been familiar with intense workouts and gym training since her role as wrestler Ruth Wilder on the Netflix series GLOW, and that experience has helped her during her preparation for the role of Evil-Lyn in the new He-Man movie, Masters of the Universe, released in early June.
Jason Walsh, Brie’s Rise Movement trainer, and the actor herself revealed a typical workout session in front of Women's Health.
Brie’s session starts with a weighted hip-thrust warm-up using 50 lbs. However, that weight is gradually increased to 300 lbs (136 kg).
That strength comes from a week of effective training that includes 3 days of Rise movement, 2 days of Peloton or Pilates, and 1 day of hiking.

Talking to Women's Health, Brie revealed, “I do think most of what I do in the gym surprises people, because I'm a petite woman," Alison says. "I'm tiny but mighty. People don't know how much strength lies inside this body.”
However, handling weight is not tough for her.
Talking to Women's Health, Brie revealed, “When I was training for GLOW, there was, like, a real transformation process that had to happen. Since GLOW, I have maintained my training so consistently, so gearing up for something like Masters of the Universe was actually much easier…because I have that muscle memory already.”
Now, coming back to her workout, after the hip-thrust, Brie goes through a set of contrast training with a Zercher squat.
According to her trainer, this process “actually recruits the nervous system at such a high rate that you can get really, really strong without actually getting bigger.”
After that, she performs 45-lb weighted pull-ups and weighted push-ups, then completes her workout with modified full-body shoulder presses.
The intense training comes with an intense diet. However, when it comes to snacks, what healthy options does Brie love?

Very few know that Brie is a foodie, and even she has a partnership with HelloFresh for its Supper Club, which encourages people to connect over a meal with friends.
During an exclusive interview with Mashed, Brie answers some questions about her go-to habit.
When asked about the snacks she eats every day, the actor said, “Oh, yeah. A Honeycrisp apple with almond butter, I eat most days.”
Talking about other snacks, Brie said, “I also love Papa Steve's No Junk Protein Bars”. These are handmade, gluten- and soy-free, and all non-GMO.

Over the years, her opinion toward the diet has totally changed. She once told the SKIMM, “A lot of women, especially in my profession, feel like they have to starve themselves to lose weight. I’ve certainly felt that way in the past.”
So, apart from intense training, Brie also follows a diet that includes protein, vegetables, and healthy fats. For snacks, she prefers healthy options.
