All About Gabriel Ganley, the Brazilian Bodybuilder Known for the 500 kg Leg Press

Brazilian Bodybuilder Gabriel Ganley shocked the world with his sudden passing, and today, we pay tribute to the fallen athlete.

Known online as “Bbzinho,” Ganley was one of Brazil’s fastest-rising fitness personalities, having built a massive following through workout and bodybuilding content. He became famous after a video of him performing a staggering 500 kg (1,102 lbs) leg press circulated online.

It was performed under the supervision of prominent fitness coach Julio Balestrin. In the video, Ganley looked visibly intense while performing 12 to 15 reps of a 500kg load. The visuals shocked everyone and impressed strength athletes. Within no time, it became a viral sensation on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

But where there is praise, there is criticism. Although he earned praise for his raw leg strength and discipline, the lift also drew some criticism from some fitness experts who labeled lifting super-heavy weights as unnecessarily risky.

But that didn't stop him from getting 2.3 million followers on Instagram and 1.3 million on TikTok. It even got him noticed in the bodybuilding circles, and he was on track to become one of Brazil's fastest-rising fitness personalities. But unfortunately, on May 23, he passed away, leaving behind an impressive legacy for others to follow.

So, today we learn everything about the young bodybuilding star.

Who Was Gabriel Ganley?

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Ganley reportedly began weight training as a teen after becoming inspired by classic bodybuilders from the 1980s and 1990s. But before becoming a bodybuilder, he trained in several combat sports, like boxing, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling.

Besides that, he was also a competitive Pokémon TCG player. In fact, reports claim he once ranked among the top players in Latin America. He got his degree in Physical Education at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, then moved to São Paulo in 2023 to pursue bodybuilding and content creation full-time. His videos were a mix of intense training, humor, charisma, and relentless ambition.

He shared useful training tips and his own progress, and even motivated aspiring athletes to develop a proper work ethic and not rely on shortcuts. This eventually led him to amass nearly 2 million followers online.

He even managed to get sponsored by a major sports supplement brand, IntegralMédica, and collaborated with major Brazilian bodybuilding figures such as Ramon Dino. At the time of his passing, he was training to make a debut at the Musclecontest Brasil competition in the Men's Open division.

On May 23, 2026, Ganley was found unresponsive in his kitchen by a friend. IntegralMédica officially confirmed his death and issued highly emotional public tributes.

“Today, the pain speaks louder. With great sadness, we say goodbye to our eternal bbzinho, who lived intensely and with whom we had historic and unforgettable moments in our family.”

The local Public Security Secretariat (SSP) has officially registered the case as a suspicious and sudden death, although no initial signs of violence were found at the scene. Officials are currently awaiting the official autopsy report.

His passing has raised several questions within the Brazilian bodybuilding community about the effects of intense training on cardiovascular health.
