American Powerlifting Legend Greg Page Dies at 63 Due to Cancer; the Fitness Community Mourns

Greg Page, the American powerlifting legend, died on May 13 while in hospice care after his battle with cancer.

On May 17, the Instagram account of Powerlifting America posted a memorial, captioning it, “It is with great sadness that we share with everyone the passing of Mr. Gregory Page.”

For over 30 years, he served as a central pillar of the American strength community, famously working as the Logistics Manager for many national events and the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio. On the platform, he was a multi-time National Champion and 5-time IPF World Masters Powerlifting Champion.

Throughout his more than 3-decade-long career, Page has earned great respect for his work. He has never missed any opportunity to motivate young talent.

For instance, a few days ago, he was in the trenches, motivating others. However, he had to rush to the ER due to a medical emergency while serving at the USA Powerlifting High School Nationals.

When the news of his cancer broke to the community, his friends, family, and many athletes who were being trained by the champion began to process the unimaginable.

During Page’s treatment at the Baylor Medical Center, the GoFundMe community created a financial support page. That page has raised $27,220 of the $50K USD to date, and according to the community, this money will go to Page’s family.

Apart from that, after the news broke, the online fitness community began mourning and expressing sympathy for the family.
