It's always a special moment when parents express their pride towards their children, and it is extra special when the parent is Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Arnold and Patrick Schwarzenegger sat down for an Actor on Actor interview with Variety last year, and it was a mix of career reflection, family dynamics, and some honest advice. During their discussion, Schwarzenegger Sr. praised his son for his work on The White Lotus Season 3.

The Terminator claimed to be a big fan of the show after watching Season three, and was 'blown away' by his son's performance.

"It's a fantastic show. And you acting surprised the hell out of me. Not that I didn't know that you're good, because you've shown that in the last 10 years. But it was just unbelievable the kind of stuff that you did in the show, and there's things that I didn't recognize you."

The HBO TV series premiered on February 16, 2025, garnering positive responses from critics and audiences alike. Patrick Schwarzenegger also received praise for playing Saxon Ratliff, The White Lotus trademark-rich jerk who no one is supposed to root for.

The younger Schwarzenegger also reflected on how overwhelming the moment felt, calling it surreal. He pointed out that even though he and his dad spend time together, they’ve never really sat down to have a deep conversation about acting and their respective journeys.

Talking about The White Lotus, he described it as a whirlwind process of auditioning, filming, and anxiously waiting for a year for the public recognition that came after the show's release. After the show's release, he even shared an emotional video of the moment his family found out he was cast.

Will we ever see the father-son duo on screen?

During an interview with E! News, Arnold Schwarzenegger shared that he would be willing to share the screen with his son, Patrick, and son-in-law, actor Chris Pratt, on one condition.

"It's one of those things that if there's a great script, then of course, we would do it. But you can't just make up this stuff. You can't just say, 'OK, let's just put the three together in a movie and not have a great script.'"
