Arnold Schwarzenegger has always been a believer in the philosophy of giving back to society. And the 7-time Mr. Olympia not only talks about the philosophy; he lives by it.

Among many programs for society, his After-School All-Stars is something very special.

On June 22, the After-School All-Stars Instagram account shared a post revealing the next step the legendary bodybuilder is taking for the institution.

The post was captioned, “Nobody is strong on the first rep. 💪. That’s why @schwarzenegger founded After-School All-Stars: to give kids a safe place to grow, fail, try again, and discover what they’re capable of. ❤️”

So, how did it start?

In 1990, Schwarzenegger was given responsibility for leading the President’s Council for Physical Fitness. After taking on this responsibility, Schwarzenegger pursued his passion, which drove him to help kids stay healthy. From that, he founded his own institution.

In 1993, he introduced the Inner City Games Foundation and invited kids from all over LA to participate in Olympic-style fitness activities. However, when this proved successful, he decided to expand it to other U.S. cities.

In 2003, The Austrian Oak rebranded the organization and elevated it to another level. From then on, it became known as After-School All-Stars. After rebranding, it began expanding its programs, including free classes from 3-6 PM every weekday.

According to the post, “Now, @arnoldspumpclub is partnering with ASAS to help more young people have someone in their corner — a mentor, a spotter, a believer. Because one caring adult can change everything”.

Apart from that, Schwarzenegger also has other programs that benefit society and the environment.

Not only has Schwarzenegger stated that he supports After-School All-Stars, but he has also stated support for other programs for society.

Some of the programs include:

• The Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative is a Vienna-based NGO founded in 2017 by the 7-time Mr. Olympia. It aims to fight pollution and support global climate actions.
• USC Schwarzenegger Institute: Prior to this name, it was known as the Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy. It was created on August 2, 2012. Its core focus remains on climate change, political reform, and environmental sustainability.

So, with many of his programs, Schwarzenegger helps society and the environment, too.
