Recently, Lindsey Vonn’s life has unfolded like a chain of struggles, and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s heartfelt message truly honors her courage and unbreakable champion’s spirit.

On 30 January 2026, an American alpine ski racer suffered a crash in a downhill at Crans-Montana. Due to this incident, she ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

Still, she was so determined to participate in the Winter Olympics that she began training herself with that leg and successfully qualified on 6 February 2026.

On February 8, when she was at the Olympics, she again suffered a crash. After that, she was airlifted to the hospital. Later on the next day, she confirmed that she had a complex fracture in her tibia. And for this, she has to undergo multiple surgeries.

On this, Arnold Schwarzenegger shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) on February 10, that he has “been following my friend Lindsey Vonn’s inspirational comeback. She’s 41, one knee is completely rebuilt, and now she went into the Olympics with a freshly-torn ACL.”

She participated in the game with a ruptured leg. On this, he wrote, this act was purely “brave” and a “little bit crazy.”

He further wrote that people will call her irresponsible, but he completely supports her stance by saying, “these people don’t understand, because they’ve never tried anything great, because they’ve never pushed themselves to the absolute edges of their limits, because they’ll never know their real potential, is that there is no such thing as risk-free greatness.”

Sometimes dreams were shattered by casualties, and the same happened to Vonn. Arnold wrote, “her Olympic dreams ended in that horrible crash that left all of us praying for her in front of our televisions.”

After the incident, Lindsey Vonn was not broken or regretful; she is still as fearless as she was before.

Fearless Lindsey Vonn

For initial treatment, after the incident, she was taken to a hospital in Treviso, approximately 2 hours away from Cortina. 35 hours after the crash, Lindsey posted on her Instagram, “yesterday did not end the way I had hoped, and despite the intense physical pain it caused, I have no regrets.”

She also revealed that it was not her ACL rupture; she wrote that “I was simply 5 inches too tight on my line when my right arm hooked inside of the gate, twisting me and resulting in my crash.”

Although she did not say she would retire from sport upon recovery, which shows she is a fearless champion.  It will be interesting to see her recovery journey and her potential comeback in skiing.
