Arnold Schwarzenegger Recalls Assisting a “Terrified” Friend During a World Cup Ski Leaving Netizens Inspired

Arnold Schwarzenegger may have conquered bodybuilding, Hollywood, and California politics, but very few know that the man is also a full-blown ski fanatic.

Recently, the 7x Mr. Olympia winner took to his Instagram handle to share a message, “Don’t fear black diamond.” For the unreserved, Black Diamond is a skiing term designating runs meant for advanced skiers, terrain built for athletes seeking more than scenic, snowcapped views.

Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that he once had to step in on the slopes to help a friend overcome his fear. In his words, “I once guided a friend down the world cup ski run covered in moguls. He was terrified, convinced, he could not do it. So, i told him, stop looking at the mountains and follow my path, one turn at a time.”

Black Diamond tracks feature narrow trails, small to medium moguls, sturdy and uneven terrain, exposed rocks, cliffs, trees, and more. The snow conditions can vary as well, with skiers often encountering different types of snow throughout the descent.

Born and raised in Thal, Austria, Schwarzenegger considers himself a man of the mountains. As a child, his father took him up the slopes every Sunday, where he wandered from one farmhouse to the next. His attachment to the snowcapped peaks is quite palpable.

Well, his confession about saving his friend certainly caught the attention of his fans who were totally awestruck

Arnold Schwarzenegger's confession draws reaction from fans

“Thank you Mr Arnie. I needed this,” One fan writes in the comment section as Schwarzenegger reveals his stories from skiing days. Furthermore, another writes, “Love it. Some of the best skiing in the world! Hope you’re still getting to the mountain, buddy!”

His love for mountains drags him back to Austria or Sun Valley as he admits, “I feel this is what life is all about, a foundation from which I can work.”

Interestingly, at Sun Valley Resort in Idaho, a black diamond trail is named after him. Known as Arnold’s Run, the trail is a recreational black-diamond descent that welcomes anyone confident enough to take on its challenge.

Despite being 78-years-old, Arnold still carries himself as if he just touched 30s. Well, what's your opinion on his confession?
