Responding to the fan, ‘The Austrian Oak’ revealed the absolute truth about building a good physique. He stated, “I always love hearing this, but remember, there will be days when you don’t want to show up. If it happens to me, it can happen to anyone.” He further added, “And on those days, when you show up anyway, you guarantee your success.”
Apparently, Schwarzenegger stressed the importance of having a disciplined approach towards working out. His remarks implied that skipping sessions certainly won't help an individual achieve their desired results.
However, Schwarzenegger has also addressed a plethora of other common issues through his newsletter that are faced by fitness enthusiasts.
Moreover, his advice covers every type of gym goer, ranging from professional bodybuilders to beginners.
Arnold Schwarzenegger's Advice For Beginners
When a fan asked Arnold what advice he would give to youngsters starting their bodybuilding journey, Arnold answered through his newsletter, saying, “For a lot of people, that first step is the hardest. So find something, anything, you can do.”
He further added, “If you have been completely sedentary, go on a 30-minute walk. If you walk all the time and you have never done any strength training, you don’t need equipment: do 5 pushups, then do 5 squats. If your heart’s beating fast, rest for a minute. Now do 4 pushups, and 4 squats.”
‘The Austrian Oak’ highlighted that if rest is needed, one should take it, but afterward, try to do “3 pushups and 3 squats. Then 2 and 2, then 1 and 1.” According to him, the most important thing is to maintain momentum and stay in the flow.
