Budapest just got funkier because the Terminator has arrived. Arnold Schwarzenegger was recently spotted there, and all the evidence points towards an upcoming project brewing.

Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger returned to Budapest, sparking rumors of a confidential film production. The legendary action star is reportedly in Hungary shooting an upcoming action-comedy project.

The Commando was spotted near the Buda Castle Tunnel, riding a bicycle along with two men. While official details remain under wraps, sources suggest the movie is titled The Kellys and is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios.

Besides the 78-year-old, the movie will also star Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth. This will be their second collaboration after Expendables 2. According to reports, the plot surrounds the Kelly family, a long-established police dynasty. 

Schwarzenegger is rumored to be playing the patriarch of the family and a seasoned detective, Jack Kelly, who gears up to protect his family against terrorists, and in his quest, he is joined by the youngest member of his family and a rookie officer played by Hemsworth.

With the bodybuilding icon cycling throughout the city, it seemed like he was enjoying his time. He has an old connection with the city. His movies Red Heat and Terminator: Dark Fate were both shot here.

Coming back to the Kellys, the movie will be directed by Brad Peyton, who is known for directing iconic action movies like San Andreas and Rampage.

This will be this year's next collaboration between Schwarzenegger and Amazon MGM Studios. The other project is a Christmas movie, Man with the Bag.

What's Cooking for Schwarzenegger in 2026?

Prime Video confirmed Schwarzenegger’s comeback to the big screen with their Christmas movie, Man with a Bag.

The Austrian Oak will be playing Santa Claus and will be sharing the screen with Reacher star Alan Ritchson.

Besides that, Schwarzenegger will also be reviving three of his iconic franchises in the near future: Conan the Barbarian, Commando, and Predator.

“They did an additional Predator, and the director [Dan Trachtenberg] has been doing a great job of that," he told Variety. "Now, he wants me to be in the next Predator. We’ve talked about it.”

Since he has aged since the release of these films, Arnie noted that all three roles will be rewritten to adapt to his current age.
