Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Post-Workout Drink: Simple Methods Behind Fitness

Arnold Schwarzenegger's intense workout routine made him one of the most noted bodybuilders in history, but a lot of that credit also goes to his diet, especially, post-workout meals.
A week ago, an Instagram post from Men's Active revealed Schwarzenegger's post-workout drink. He said, “I just came home from my workout, so now I do what I always do. I make a little protein drink.” The ingredients? Cherry juice, banana slices, and whey protein.”
‘The Austrian Oak’ also adds Schnapps, “directly from Austria” to the drink. Quite a combination that only the Terminator can drink, but can you blame him? This is the man who made his own protein shakes back at 15, when he was just a teenager.
But back in the 1960s, his drinks looked much different from the aforementioned one. His family brought home a new type of mixer, which allowed him to make protein shakes using milk, yeast, skimmed milk powder, and honey.
"It would taste like s***," he told Business Insider, but that was the best he could do at the time to meet his daily protein intake. Well, it wouldn't be wrong to say, that drink played a significant role in his bodybuilding success, despite its gnarly taste.
However, gone are those days, and now Schwarzenegger has reduced consuming protein shakes.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Has Increased His Distance From Protein Shakes
I used to drink, for instance, protein drinks, but I don't do that that much," Schwarzenegger told Business Insider last year. "I just think that I eat really well and I stay healthy this way."
Nowadays, the 78-year-old is taking in as many whole foods as possible. He has cut down on meat as well to lower his cholesterol levels, but that doesn’t mean that he is a strict vegan.
The 7x Mr. Olympia currently follows a “70%” plant-based diet. He also said that he hasn't "cut out the wiener schnitzel or a steak," that he keeps having regularly.
Right now, ‘Arnie’ believes in consuming foods that are generally good for his age. Given that, what are your thoughts on his current diet?
