Joseph Baena shared his go-to breakfast burrito recipe on Instagram, giving fans a sneak peek into what his mornings look like.

The son of Bodybuilding/Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger often shares workout routines, healthy meals, and lifestyle content with followers. And this time, his easy-to-prepare breakfast burrito looked both nutritious and scrumptious. He was also kind enough to share the detailed recipe in the caption. 

"I'm prepping for something exciting, so I made these a bit leaner than I usually would. Super easy to make, and if I wasn't recording, it'd probably take me 20 min. All this needed was a little salsa. Ingredients below:"

  • Low carb tortiilas
  • Eggs
  • Eggs whites
  • Potatoes
  • Green & Red bell peppers
  • Onion
  • Bacon
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Onion & Garlic powder
  • Paprika

In the video, Arnie Jr. showed off his impressive chopping and dicing skills, leaving viewers wondering if he might have another career path waiting in the kitchen. He diced potatoes, seasoned them with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika to add flavor, and cooked them until golden and crispy.

He then chopped onions and red and green bell peppers, sautéing the vegetables until they softened and developed flavor. The main protein component came from whisked eggs, which he added to the sautéed vegetables. In a separate pan, cook the bacon strips until crisp. They add a savory flavor to the burrito.

Once the eggs and veggies were cooked, he proceeded towards the fun part of the recipe: assembling the burrito. This was done by layering eggs, potatoes, vegetables, and bacon inside the tortillas, then rolling them tightly. He then toasted the burrito and cut it in half before enjoying it.

This breakfast burrito is a great lean, protein-rich food option for an active lifestyle. It’s a practical recipe that provides balanced nutrition to support daily workouts and overall health.

What does Joseph Baena usually eat?

Since Joseph Baena is a busy man, he keeps his diet plan simple. His philosophy is to “keep it simple, keep it healthy, and keep it fresh.” Here is everything he eats in a day. Look out for some healthy tips if you are looking to improve your diet.

Breakfast

  • An omelette made with four eggs, mushrooms and spinach, and two slices of avocado toast on the side.

Lunch

  • Salad with protein like chicken or turkey. 
  • He also has a protein shake after work. 

A pro tip Baena learned from his dad is not to use too much milk in his shakes. Go for orange juice instead. He also adds bananas, spinach, berries, and protein powder to his shakes, or creatine if he is trying to bulk up. 

Dinner

  • He usually goes for Mediterranean food, and chicken and turkey.
  • Lately, he’s been enjoying plant-based meat substitutes.

According to him. “They’re light, I can digest them really easy before going to bed, so I don’t have nightmares when I fall asleep.”

But he also enjoys an occasional cheat meal that either has pastries and pies, or Shawarma.
