At 78, Arnold Schwarzenegger Goes 2 Hours on a Cycle for Whey Protein Promotions in the US

Cycling for two hours at the age of 78 for a simple promotion is a feat that only Arnold Schwarzenegger can pull off.

At an age when most slow down, fitness icon Arnold Schwarzenegger is literally accelerating. The seven-time Mr. Olympia was recently spotted cycling for two hours as part of a promotional campaign for whey protein in the United States. And it became a statement of endurance, discipline, and marketing.

Schwarzenegger was at the event for Momentous, a premier high-performance supplement brand that specializes in making NSF sports products like protein powders, Omega-3, Creatine, and supplements for athletes and people who want to live a fit life.

This wasn't the only time the Austrian Oak was seen peddling; it's his daily routine. The former politician bikes to and from the gym daily for 45 minutes to an hour to maintain his fitness.

The Hollywood star was there to try out their new whey protein smoothie, which he found "very nice." The noteworthy part was that the actor, who owns a fleet of cars, arrived at the event on his bicycle, which was proof of what he wrote in his newsletter:

“I get out of bed, have my coffee and read the newspaper, then I immediately go on a bike ride to Gold’s Gym, have my workout, and then ride my bike to get some breakfast.”

The Terminator owns a custom Matchless Urban E-Bike, which is often spotted riding around LA, especially when travelling to and from the gym. In fact, he was spotted riding his bicycle just three weeks after his major heart surgery.

Arnie wants to cycle all around the world

In 2018, Arnold Schwarzenegger told Men's Health magazine that he wished to take his love for cycling to a new level. “Squatting and all this kind of heavy leg exercises, I can’t do anymore. My knees are shot. I have to protect my knees because I want to go skiing. I do mostly cycling, so that’s why I want to cycle all over the world.”

Arnie has been spotted cycling in different countries:

In 2016, rode his bike through a train station in Germany and was stopped by the police.
In the same year, he was seen riding his bike on the wrong side of the road in Edinburgh.
In 2015, he was seen riding a bike in Melbourne.
He went sightseeing in London by Boris Bike and managed to visit Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Piccadilly Circus.

Last year, Schwarzenegger was part of a movement called #PumpForThePlanet, wherein he urged his fans to choose pollution-free alternatives like cycling to commute to work.

At an age when most hang up their helmets, The Terminator hasn't said hasta la vista just yet.
