Bill Grant, a bodybuilder from the Golden Era, also known as the Man of Steel, has died at 80.

On June 3, RxMuscle's Instagram account announced the news to the world, prompting condolences and tributes for the veteran.

The Instagram post says, “Saddened to report the passing of Bill Grant.”

Known as the "Man of Steel," Grant was one of the most respected physique stars of the 1970s and a key figure during bodybuilding's Golden Era. Grant captured the prestigious 1972 Mr. America title before adding the 1974 Mr. World crown to his impressive resume.”

Grant, born in 1946, was known for his symmetry, classic lines, and massive physique, and he competed with many legendary bodybuilders from the golden era.

Grant began weightlifting in childhood and steadily rose to success. He competed in the 1967 AAU Mr. USA, where he placed 10th. However, 1 year later, he earned the winning title at the 1968 AAU Mr. New Jersey.

A breakthrough moment in Grant’s life came when he won WBBG Pro Mr. America in 1972. In 1974, the bodybuilder earned the IFBB Mr. World overall title after taking the Tall class.

Not only that, but Grant also participated in Mr. Olympia, where his physique drew attention from many fans.

The legacy of Grant will always be remembered, and the bodybuilding world has expressed their condolences for the loss of the champ.

Fans across the world started pouring out their prayers and condolences in response to Grant’s news.

One fan said, “Another golden Era great gone but not forgotten! RIP.”

While one fan sent his condolences to his family by commenting, “Just such a wonderful person to get to know. Sincere condolences to his family and friends❤️”, another fan talked about an old experience, “RIP Bill. Originally from Orange, New Jersey. I saw him a few times around the Orange YMCA when he used to come and visit from California.”

Last but not least, one fan wrote, “Omg😮 This one's sad to hear 😣 he was such a cool and wonderful person. Loved his interviews and training style. Hope he reunites with Bill Pearl in the celestial gym out in the beyond...💪⚡.”

So, Grant will be remembered for his classic structure and contribution to bodybuilding.
