Jasper Van den Hout, also known as Jasper Vdh, a Belgian fitness coach and competitive bodybuilder, did a surprising thing during his posing routine at a recent bodybuilding competition. He made one of the most memorable pregnancy announcements that any sport has ever seen.

Jasper pulled out a T-shirt with a print that read "coach," and stuck to it was an ultrasound scan image. He lifted it high above his head under the stage lights, as posted by Beyond the Stage TV on Instagram. 

“How about this for a pregnancy reveal! @jasper.vdhcoaching used his moment in the bodybuilding stage to announce that he and his partner are expecting a huge round of applause at the end of his posing routine," the caption read.

The footage captured has made its way onto various social platforms and was very well received by the fitness community. In the video, Jasper is competing as number 232 in what seems to be an NPC Benelux-circuit competition (with Hosstile Nutrition and Werner logos seen in the background).

However, what the crowd did not know, which makes this event even more remarkable, was how close Jasper was to not taking the stage at all.

The Struggle Behind Jasper's Prep 

A little deeper insight into Jasper's Instagram posts, the viral pregnancy reveal story has a different perspective.

Jasper revealed in his earlier posts that he was hospitalised with an injury, leaving him uncertain whether he would be able to ever lift weights again.

The Belgian bodybuilder posted a carousel of pictures revealing these struggles. The first picture was his Iggi's New Face & Regional medal and his baby's ultrasound scans. In the caption, Jasper wrote 

"Man, I got tears running down while typing this. I will never be able to put into words how I feel. So a little recap in pics."

He went on to detail a prep unlike any other, and that included a hospital admission, ordering chicken and rice (a staple bodybuilding meal) as soon as he woke up in the hospital, even though he was unsure about how he would return to the stage with a critical injury he had just faced.

But he raved through the injury and won! "Not the prep I was expecting," he wrote. "But the best prep I could ever wish for."

Lastly, he wrote: "Fall down 7," he closed. "Stand up 8."
