Bodybuilding world reacts to Ramon Dino vs Derek Lunsford
Ramon Dino and Derek Lunsford sparked speculation following a joint guest posing at the 2026 Pittsburgh Pro. Fans are debating if the Classic Physique standout will finally transition to the Men's Open division.
The guest posing, specifically between the reigning Mr. Olympia Classic Physique, Ramon Dino, and the 2-time Men's Open Mr. Olympia winner, Derek Lunsford, took place on May 17 and sparked discussions in the community.
On May 17, @whoisthebestbb dropped a video on its Instagram handle, captioning “@ramondinopro battling with @dereklunsford_ Hope to see 🦖 one day in Open Bodybuilding!”

In the video, Dino and Lunsford were seen posing next to each other. The Brazilian bodybuilder looks more sculpted, conditioned, and well-built, given his 5’11 frame.
He almost looked contest-ready in his incredible shape.
On the other hand, Lunsford also looked pretty good, with his broad, well-built shoulders and back. When compared to other guest posing lineup members such as Andrew Jacked and Samson Dauda, Lunsford seems like tough competition on the Mr. Olympia stage.
There are some speculations that Dino can turn to the Men’s Open at this Olympia, as his physique seems ready to face the other competitors in the lineup. In fact, bodybuilding fans are eager to see him compete in the Open category soon.
The video's comments and likes are steadily rising as fans praise Dino's physique.
How did fans react to Ramon Dino and Derek Lunsford posing together
One fan directly compared the two, saying, “Ramon looks way better than Derek!!” This is also true, as Dino looks better than Lunsford in condition.
While on support, he wrote, “5kgs of muscle and Ramon would be a problem in the Open.” Dino currently competes in the Classic Physique category. But according to Generation Iron, speaking to DC Backstage in 2025, the bodybuilder revealed that he will compete in Men’s Open, but not now.
Another fan went one step beyond and made a side-by-side comparison between the current Men’s Open Mr. Olympia and Classic Physique Mr. Olympia and said, “Ramon 😱top 3 open bodybuilding 100%.”
Some fans totally agree that Dino must change his category. One fan wrote, “Ramon actually looks like he can compete in the open division!”
However, it was just a way of praising their favorite bodybuilder, but it all depends on "Dinossauro do Acre" when he is ready to try his luck in the Men’s Open category.
It will be interesting to see what these giants bring to Mr. Olympia 2026 in September in Las Vegas.
