Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn's fitness rules to stay fit & healthy at 46
On April 22, through an Instagram post, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn shared two images. While the first one displayed his obese physical condition from four years ago, the other photo revealed his broad, muscular shoulders, implying that he has started taking special care of fitness.
So, what is the secret to the English sports promoter's fit physique even at 46? The answer is his consistency. He regularly visits his gym and follows a workout routine.
On April 21, Men's Health UK shared a short where Hearn opened up about how people who neglect their own well-being frustrate him. He said, “It does frustrate me a little bit because loads of people that I work with in boxing, I say to people, 'When did you last go to the gym?' [and they reply,] 'I don't know.' I don't understand why you wouldn't do this. It baffles me."
Hearn continued, "You've got one body, one opportunity to live as long as you can and give yourself the best chance at life. And you're going to feel a million times better. And you're going to achieve more. And you're going to be happier. What more do you have to do?"
He also admitted that when he was overweight, he was heading toward serious health issues, and because of a family history of dangerous consequences from an unhealthy lifestyle, he decided to change his lifestyle in his 40s.
Currently, Hearn not only runs but also focuses on weightlifting, and he thinks that weightlifting is not easy for him, but that it comes down to consistency.
Talking about working out in the gym, he said, “I don’t enjoy it like running, but I really enjoy seeing my body change. I like the feeling when I finish a good, strong weight workout, and I feel better within myself. My arms have doubled in size over the past couple of years, and that’s not hard because they were non-existent, but I’m starting to see a decent change to my body”.
So, what workouts does he follow at this age?
Specifics of Eddie Hearn's Workout Routine
According to the April 21 edition of Men's Health, the workouts followed by Hearn include:
- Incline Bench Press: 3 sets x 10 reps
- Bench Press: 3 sets x 10-12 reps
- Box Squat: 4 sets x 6 reps.
3 rounds of:
- Arnold Press x 10
- Plank Head Tap x 20
- Seated Lateral Side Raise x 12
3 rounds of:
- Dumbbell Step-Up x 8 (each leg)
- Rope Tricep Extension x 8
- Chest Fly x 12.
In addition to working out, he has also changed his eating habits. Currently, he focuses on eating only healthy food.
So, it is Hearn’s approach to lifestyle changes that helps him stay fit and healthy in his 40s. Are you also thinking of following the approach?
