Bulgarian trainer sets Guinness World Record with 50 Pull-Ups
While most of us struggle to crank out 10 pull-ups, Bulgarian trainer Elina Pashalanova smashed a Guinness World Record, taking things to a new level. In just one minute, she completed an incredible 50 pull-ups, proving that strength has no limits.
An Instagram post shared by metropolesvida_estilo on June 29 highlighted the 34-year-old trainer completing 50 pull-ups in one minute. With this, she achieved the highest number of pull-ups successfully on a fixed bar within a minute in the women’s category.
“I wanted to challenge myself and show how strong a woman can be, to inspire and set an example for all the people I work with and for everyone who doubts themselves," she said, in the Instagram post caption that has been translated from its original Portuguese.
Over a period of just six weeks, she has also broken the record for the highest number of push-ups with two fingers (20 repetitions in one minute).
Furthermore, Pashalanova broke several other records, including-
- Highest number of pull-ups with four fingers (25 repetitions in one minute)
- Highest number of push-ups while wearing a 9 kg backpack (32 repetitions in one minute)
Along with intense training to break world records, Pashalanova does weightlifting and CrossFit.
How Elina Pashalanova trained for her Guinness World Records
Breaking not one but multiple Guinness World Records takes immense training, dedication, and consistency. Her relentless training helped her achieve these massive feats, which were anything but ordinary.
During an interview with Guinness World Records, Pashalanova said,
“There is nothing impossible if you set your mind up to it, don't be afraid and put in the work," she said. "I prepared for about a year, specifically with at least 1,000 pull-ups per week, done in different ways, depending on which part of the preparation it was.”
Aside from regular pull-ups, she built a well-rounded strength training routine that helped her develop serious power. It included CrossFit, calisthenics, and Olympic weightlifting.
She also mentioned constantly adjusting her workouts throughout the year, always progressing the weights and intensity. This was done to consistently build strength instead of plateauing.
However, Pashalanova’s mindset is what made all the difference in her training approach. She admitted that she does not train merely to break world records; she trains to encourage other women to be strong and brave and to challenge themselves.
What do you think about Pashalanova’s incredible feat? How many pull-ups and push-ups can you do in one minute?
